Collab with Equality Texas and ACLU of TX
Education in Texas is under extreme scrutiny from state legislators, school boards, parents, and community members. What exactly is happening and how is it impacting our communities?
Panelists will share their stories, challenges, and triumphs navigating the education system in Texas as part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. This insightful discussion aims to shed light on the barriers faced by LGBTQIA2S+ individuals within education and explore ways to take action.
Join us as we come together to learn, listen, and advocate for an honest, safe, and equitable learning environment for all.
The conversation will be moderated by Elsie Kindall from Equality Texas and PRIDENTON board member James Jackson.
Register through Equality Texas’ portal.
What to Expect:
ASL interpretation
Live captioning
Discussion of lived experiences involving discrimination, being forced to be closeted, harassment, bullying, and bigotry.
Night OUT on the Square will be at the Civic Center this year! With the uncertain timeline of the construction on the Courthouse Lawn, we had to find a new home for our event.
🏳️🌈 Wear your pride gear, bring your signs, and visit the businesses and organizations that support PRIDENTON. 🏳️🌈
Local businesses and organizations show their support and PRIDE for the LGBTQIA2S+ community by participating in a “reverse Pride parade” where businesses are the “floats” and participants visit their booths.
Similar to a vendor fair, attendees will bounce between floats, pick up giveaways and swag along the way, and vote for the best storefront “float” AND the best table/booth “float”! We will announce the winners on Saturday, June 29th at the "Big Pride in Lil’ d" Dance Party at Rubber Gloves.
6: Check-in to get your vendor map and tote bag
6:30: Welcome Rally/Speeches
7-10: Visit PRIDENTON supporter "floats", get swag and deals, discover new businesses, and make new friends
*Be sure to turn in your ballot at the check-in table by 10:00 p.m.*
